Cavanna Homes received industry recognition at the latest Local Authority Building Control (LABC) South West awards. Origins in Dartington, the 63-home development which was completed at the beginning of 2017, has been highly commended by the LABC in the category of Best High Volume New Housing Development.
LABC represents all local authority building teams in England and Wales, ensuring that developments meet the highest standards in safety and energy efficiency. The LABC South West regional awards evening recognised excellence amongst 350 construction industry professionals. Judging is based on several factors including: appearance, planning and attention to safety.
Development Manager Ed Brown said: “Origins is an example of an expertly designed and well-delivered development. Timber and stone cladding are key features, creating a rural aesthetic that’s in-keeping with the neighbourhood. Our homes are far from ordinary!”
Alongside the project, Cavanna Homes made significant financial contributions to the Dartington community. Benefits of the contribution included an upgrade of the Dartington/Totnes cycle link and funding for space/play and sports provisions.
