Award-winning Cavanna Homes’ much-anticipated new South Devon development, Yarners Mill in Dartington, is coming closer to fruition, with the first homes expected to be ready to move into by the spring.
Following a thorough public consultation process, construction work commenced last summer. The marketing suite opened its doors this month giving home seekers the opportunity to visit the on-site sales advisor, view plans and make reservations.
The 30-home complex will include two, three, four and four/five-bedroom open market homes and two and three-bedroom affordable homes, plus up to 5,000sqft of employment space.
The scheme is located on the A385, conveniently close to Dartington’s range of amenities including a village store, primary school, garage, community hall and pub.
The show home – a three-bedroom ‘Weston’ style property – is due to open in April for prospective home owners to get a taste of what living at Yarners Mill could be like.
The development is situated across the road from Cavanna Homes’ 63-home development, Origins which was highly commended in the category of Best High Volume New Housing Development in the Local Authority Building Control South West awards last year.
Origins was recognised as an example of an expertly designed and well-delivered development. Timber and stone cladding are key features of its aesthetic, complementing the existing historic neighbourhood and its rural setting.
The design of the homes at Yarners Mill will also reflect their rural environs and will feature render, stone and timber cladding.
In addition to providing a range of homes across its two developments, Cavanna Homes has made significant financial contributions to the Dartington community including £22,000 towards outdoor play space, £13,000 towards an upgrade of the Dartington/Totnes cycle link and £45,000 of funding for sports provision.
In recognition of the team’s dedication to providing high quality homes, Cavanna Homes has been awarded a five-star rating by the Home Builders Federation (HBF) for the last five consecutive years. The coveted five stars are only awarded to companies who gain a minimum 90 per cent approval rating when buyers are asked if they would recommend the firm to a friend.
Head of Sales and Marketing, Beverley Bridge, said: “We work closely with our designers and architects to ensure our homes are in-keeping with their surroundings and Yarners Mill is no exception. We are pleased to be able to offer a selection of homes that reflect their beautiful rural position, while contributing to the existing community of Dartington.”
All the properties are designed and built to be energy efficient with UPVC glazed windows throughout. Every Cavanna home is finished to a high standard and comes with a 10-year NHBC Buildmark Warranty and two-year customer support from Cavanna Homes.
