When Stewart and Lauren Sparkes from Torbay decided to move house, get married and start a family all at the same time, they hadn’t expected their experience of juggling three of life’s biggest events to be quite so straightforward.
Just one month before their wedding in April last year, the couple reserved a new four-bedroom property at our Primrose Hill development in Torquay – at the same time they discovered they were expecting baby Archie.
Stewart, a sales director for a motor trade company and Lauren, a primary school teacher, were already living in a three-bedroom Cavanna Homes property at Kings Field in Kingskerswell, which they bought in 2014, so we were thrilled that they chose us again for their next family home.
“We loved our house but Lauren was keen to have a bigger garden for our dog,” recalls Stewart. “I said I’d only move if it was in a cul-de-sac, had four bedrooms and a drive big enough for four cars!
“Lauren visited Primrose Hill by herself and came home and said ‘you’ll never guess what…’ and told me she’d found everything we both wanted.”
The couple visited Primrose Hill, which is within walking distance of The Willows retail park, again and then reserved their spacious, four-bedroom detached property.
A busy few months followed as Stewart and Lauren finalised the details of their move in November and prepared for their new arrival in January.
Stewart said their moving experience, which included a tense few weeks after the sale of their house fell through, was made hassle-free and straightforward by the professionalism of our Sales Advisor Kevyn Dixon.
“Kevyn and his colleague Sarah Bowden were amazing throughout the whole process,” continues Stewart. “We put our house on the market as soon as we reserved our property, but the sale fell through. However Cavanna was really understanding and gave us more time even though they had a lot of interest in the house we had reserved.”
We were pleased to be able to give Stewart and Lauren the opportunity to select the finishing touches to their home including the styles of their kitchen and bathroom, flooring type, socket points and light fixtures.
It’s great news that they are now enjoying family life in their new community.
“Kevyn couldn’t have done enough for us,” adds Stewart. “He was so genuine and relaxed and always kept us informed. Whenever we visited we were able to put on boots and hard hats and visit the site.
“We also changed our minds several times about some of the interior fixtures and fittings but because it was so early in the build we were able to have exactly what we wanted. We love the quality of Cavanna Homes’ properties and the layout of our house is ideal for our growing family.”
