Cavanna Homes get creative with Torbay Art Show sponsorship

We are proud to announce our headline sponsorship of the Torbay Art Show 2018, an event at Torquay Boys’ Grammar School to raise funds for the refurbishment of the sixth form centre.

Over the years we are proud to have nurtured a strong relationship with the Torquay Boys’ Grammar School, so when we were asked to support the Torbay Art Show to help raise funds for the sixth form centre, we were first in line!

Over the weekend of 13 – 14 October 2018, the grammar school’s Cavanna Centenary Hall will be transformed into an inspiring exhibition where professional artists from across the UK will be showcasing and selling their spectacular work.

Alongside the range of professional paintings, ceramics and sculptures on display and for sale at the art show, talented students at Torquay Boys’ Grammar School will be exhibiting an inspired collection of their work, offering a taste of the high standards of art achieved within the school’s Art Department.

Cavanna Homes has been a long-standing supporter of the Torquay Boys’ Grammar School, with a number of our staff, and several generations of the Cavanna family, having been educated there.

Investing in young people is something we, as a local company, are very passionate about. We are committed to supporting the next generation through a number of initiatives, including our successful apprenticeship programme.

The Torbay Art Show has been organised by the Parents’ Association of Torquay Boys’ Grammar School, and a percentage from all professional artwork sold will go towards the refurbishment of the sixth form centre. The investment will see the sixth form take on a brighter, more spacious appearance with computer and study rooms for unsupervised learning and new café area for students to join together in an open and friendly environment.

Lisa Cresswell, a member of the Parents’ Association and the driving force behind the Torbay Art Show, said: “It’s fantastic to have Cavanna Homes as a headline sponsor for this event and we are overwhelmed by their support and generosity. What started out as a small fundraising art show, with Cavanna’s support, has now grown into the Torbay Art Show with over 50 professional artists lined up to exhibit at the event”.

Peter Lawrence, Headteacher at Torquay Boys’ Grammar School, added: “Cavanna’s support is true recognition of the value of the school and reflects their commitment to investing in the next generation.

“The Torbay Art Show will be a brilliant opportunity to raise well-needed funds to update the school’s sixth form facilities, as well as showcase the great talent of professional artists, and our fantastic students at the school. We are incredibly grateful for Cavanna’s support in making this happen”.
