Assistant Site Manager – Devon/Cornwall/Somerset

About the Role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Site Manager to join our team across our sites in the South West. We are recruiting for sites in Devon, Cornwall & Somerset.

You will be assisting the Site Manager and Build Manager with the responsibility of managing all aspects of the construction process – Building Brilliance. You will ensure the provision of a safe and efficient work environment at all times, while leading your team and our sub-contractors to deliver the highest quality of home for our customer.

Principle responsibilities of the role include:

  • Support the Site Manager with the day to day running of the site and provide clear direction to those working on the construction site regarding their responsibilities and targets
  • Assist with management and implementation of health and safety procedures, working closely with the Head of Health and Safety to ensure that that all aspects of health and safety are followed and adhered to
  • Leading and developing your team to be successful in their roles and in their future career aspirations
  • Deliver excellent levels of customer service at all times
  • Ensure a high level of site presentation at all times
  • Support the Site Manager to deliver all aspects of production requirements in strict accordance with relevant technical and planning documentation
  • Ensure that adequate site records are maintained
  • Thoroughly inspect and ensure any remedial work is completed in advance of each NHBC key stage inspection

Who we are looking for

Previous house building experience at management level is desirable, together with knowledge of modern construction methods and current health and safety legislation. Experience in meeting Housing Corporation and eco homes standards, combined with strong organisational and communication skills are also required.

We would also consider applicants who are University/ HND College leavers or suitable persons from a trade role with relevant qualifications.

All applicants must be prepared to work at various sites throughout the South West as required.
