About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Accounts Assistant, working 22.5 – 30hrs a week. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our Finance Team. You’ll be responsible for accurate and timely financial administration, helping to ensure the smooth running of our accounts processes. This is a varied and rewarding role with opportunities to develop your skills and grow within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Enter and reconcile purchase and subcontractor ledger transactions
Assist with monthly and ad hoc payment runs
Maintain accurate sales ledger records and follow up on outstanding debts
Reconcile credit card, petty cash, and utility accounts
Support month-end processes including journal entries and budget reporting
Prepare performance and reconciliation reports in Excel
Ensure compliance with health & safety policies and financial procedures
You’ll work closely with the Accounts Team Leader and Director of Finance, supporting both internal and external financial requirements while helping to uphold our standards of accuracy and service.
About You
You are organised, detail-focused, and enjoy working with numbers. You’re confident using Excel and finance systems, with at least one year of experience in an accounts-based role. Whether early in your finance career or looking to build on your experience, you’re eager to contribute and grow with us.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Minimum GCSEs in Maths, English, and Science (Grade C or above)
At least 1 year’s experience in a finance/accounts role
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems
Strong organisation and time management skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Desirable:
AAT qualification or equivalent (or currently studying)
Experience using COINS accounting software
More than 5 years of experience in a similar role
