Our Charity Committee
Every year we choose a local Charity which Cavanna Homes will support with a variety of fundraising activities which include;
- “Dress Down Friday”
- Christmas Bake Off
- Triggers Travels – Where our seahorse “mascot” travels with staff on their holiday and the miles travelled are converted into donations by Cavanna.
- Weekly Yoga Sessions
Cavanna Homes Charity Committee was formed in 2018 to co-ordinate these activities as a way of giving something back to the communities where we build new homes.
So far, we have raised funds and supported the following charities:
Barnstaple Youth Football Tournament
Dawlish Action For Youth
Dawlish Gardens Trust
Exeter, Michelmores 5K Run
Newton Abbot Rugby Club
Plymouth, St Lukes Hospice
Teignbridge Sports Awards
Torbay Air Show
Totnes 10K Run
Torbay, Rowcroft Hospice Male Trail and donated a gazebo
Torbay Hospital – Ricky Grant Trust
For 2019 we have chosen Children’s Hospice South West as our charity of the Year. We wanted to support their three hospices in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset as it is a great cause to support and give something back to the area, which we will be building in throughout the year.
For more than 25 years, Children’s Hospice South West has been caring for children with life-limiting conditions providing children’s hospice and professional family support services.
We are dedicated to making the most of short and precious lives through the provision of the best possible hospice care for children and young people who are not expected to survive into adulthood.
Our three hospices across the south west support more than 500 children and their families: Little Bridge house in Devon, Little Harbour in Cornwall and Charlton Farm in North Somerset.
3 of our colleagues are taking on a huge challenge and joining the Ride for Precious Lives, a CHSW event in July this year.
Three counties, three hospices and three days for this 205 mile cycle challenge. They will cycle through challenging but breath taking scenery and visit three very special Children’s Hospices along the way.
