Buyers are choosing new homes as confidence grows in the South West property market

Our Operations Director, Andy Addison talks about the positive shift in the new build property market and our new home developments in Dawlish and Tavistock, in the Western Morning News’ Summer Property Review.

At Cavanna Homes we are optimistic about the new build home market in the South West.

This year is our busiest construction year to date, with eight live sites and three set to open later this year across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.

We have been building brilliant new homes for over 95 years and have seen many peaks and troughs in the housing market during that time. Experience has taught us to remain focused on building beautiful high-quality new homes in desirable locations to reach our ambitious business targets for our approaching centenary year in 2023 and beyond.

We recently opened our show home at Barley Meadow in Dawlish, and had already received four reservations off-plan which is a really positive sign that home-buyers in the Westcountry have confidence in the housing market and recognise our high-quality build standards and design.

We have recently opened our Marketing Suite at our new Broadleigh Park development in Tavistock which has attracted a good number of potential buyers many from the local area resulting in the first reservations.

Buyers are keen to explore the variety of options for buying a new home, such as Help-to-Buy, Move Assist and Part-Exchange. Our open weekends and part-exchange events have been very successful and opened the doors to further conversations with people.

We’re building a variety of new homes to meet all requirements from bungalows in Stoke Gabriel, starting from £339,950 for a two-bedroom detached bungalow, to luxury family homes at Cavanna @ Wolborough Hill in Newton Abbot, starting from £419,995 for a three-bedroom home, to £739,950 for a 5-bedroom home with a private driveway.

Around 80 percent of our buyers move to our new homes from the local area, and with new homes in towns, villages and city locations in all four counties, many close to the coast or countryside, there really is something for everyone.
