On your doorstep… places to explore at Wolborough Hill

We pride ourselves on the spectacular countryside and coastal locations of each of our developments and Cavanna @ Wolborough Hill in Newton Abbot is no different.

For those who love the great outdoors and want to explore the area in which they live, this beautiful spot has it all, particularly when the weather is as warm as it has been recently.

This exclusive address enjoys sweeping views across the fields and surrounding communities to the moorland beyond, and not to mention homeowners will have use of the development’s own tennis court!

A 15-minute stroll from your front door will lead you to the delightful green open space of Decoy Country Park, with its ponds, streams and wet and heath woodlands. Once a clay quarry, this peaceful spot is now brimming with wildlife and offers a charming recreational space for dog walking, picnics and exercise, as well as BMX racing and water sports, which are available on-site.

If you fancy picking up the pace a little then take to two wheels and join one of the many local cycle routes. The Stover Trail is a particular favourite of ours, and is a traffic-free, flat route, which connects Newton Abbot to Bovey Tracey. It takes in some fabulous views along the way, as well as Stover Country Park, which is just 2 miles from the centre of Newton Abbot. Covering more than 114 acres of woodland, grassland, lakes and marsh, it offers another super place to relax and get back to nature.

The impressive natural landscape of Dartmoor National Park is nothing short of iconic and can be seen from Wolborough Hill. What’s even more wonderful is that in just 25 minutes, you can actually be there. Whether you’re looking for a light amble, an ambitious hike or simply a picnic with your loved ones, this 368 square mile area has it all, with open moorlands, wildlife and activities for everyone.

Of course, let’s not forget the stunning South Devon coastline and its many sandy beaches, which can be easily reached as well. The closest and some of the most secluded are within a few miles and you can be settling down by the sea within 15 minutes of leaving home. Whether you’re in the mood for the coast or the countryside, Wolborough Hill gives you the best of both worlds, proving you really can have it all.
