Postponed wedding plans gave Cavanna homeowners the perfect opportunity to create their dream garden

When Alice Louise and her fiancé Dan postponed their perfect summer wedding this year because of the restrictions imposed by Covid-19, they decided to treat themselves to a dream garden makeover at their new home in Paignton.

Instead of enjoying a romantic honeymoon, the couple can now relax in their Lay-Z-Spa hot tub with a glass of wine under the twinkling fairy lights wrapped around their new pergola in the back garden of their four-bedroom home at Cavanna Homes’ Fusion development.

Alice, a keen Instagrammer who regularly shares stylish interior pictures of her stunning home on her popular @alicescavannahome account, took inspiration for her new garden from her friendly neighbours, Clare and Michael. Alice said: “We’d closely followed Clare and Michael’s garden renovation on their Instagram – @number3theweston – and once it was finished, we went round to have a look and completely fell in love with the design of their timber decking, pergola, stylish plant beds and upcycled garden table which was made out of an old cable reel.

“We started mapping out ideas and enlisted Michael’s expert help. He runs his own garden landscaping company, TTS Decking & Fencing, so was able to help us create our fabulous new garden.

“We decided to add timber decking with a sunken hot tub in the middle and a beautiful wooden pergola which I’ve decorated with dainty fairy lights, creating a perfect spot to relax. Our potted plants were placed around the outside, including our fabulous fox ornament – a common theme around our home!

“Michael was brilliant! Our garden was finished in ten days and we’re so happy with it – he did a really professional job.

“Our next job is to get a new outdoor dining set so we have an ideal space for entertaining guests. We’ve been looking online and on various home Instagram accounts for inspiration, but most of the designs we like are currently sold out, but watch this space!

“We’ve loved creating a fun outdoor space perfectly designed around us (and our fabulous hot tub). It’s been the best distraction, taking our minds off postponing our wedding, but now we can start planning our exciting future in our fabulous new garden.”
