Off-plan purchases prove popular with buyers

Buying a new-build home off-plan is becoming increasingly popular with buyers looking for a place they can personalise from the get-go.

Research published earlier this year by Estate Agents, Hamptons showed that in 2021, nearly a quarter (24%) of a new detached homes were sold off-plan, compared to 21% the previous year. A third (33%) of semi-detached houses and nearly half (45%) of all new terraced houses were sold off-plan, an increase of 2% and 4% respectively on the previous year. Although the key reason behind this growth was the rise in house purchases, it is clear that buyers love the convenience and freedom to choose their fixtures and fittings early-on in the build.

Selecting kitchen cupboards, worktops, bathroom tiles and small details, such as light fittings and plug sockets form part of the exciting process of reserving off-plan. At Cavanna Homes, the option to upgrade appliances and have built-in wardrobes is also available at key points in construction. Fixtures and fittings evolve and change overtime with trends and fashions which is why our selection is regularly updated.
