Cavanna Homes opens applications for community grants
Family-owned housebuilder Cavanna Homes is asking charities and community groups in North Molton, North Devon, to get their applications in for grant support as the Devon-based construction company launches a new fund to support deserving organisations in the village.
Four grants each worth £250 are available to mark the start of house sales on the new Hollywell Meadow development. Any local organisation with a community or charitable focus – including local schools – is eligible to apply for funding.
The Cavanna Community Grant initiative will be rolled out across the homebuilder’s new sites this year (2025) to coincide with key milestones in the community’s build programme. It’s another way for the Torquay-based housebuilder to show its support for the communities where it builds new homes.
Hannah Newnes, Sales and Marketing Director, said: “At Cavanna Homes, we are committed to creating vibrant communities where people aspire to live. The introduction of our Community Grant Scheme represents another way for us to invest in the neighbourhoods where we build.”
“We recognise that delivering new homes also carries a responsibility to support those around us. We hope this new scheme will offer valuable assistance to both new and established local groups, reflecting our ongoing commitment to enhancing the places we call home.”
“We are genuinely passionate about the areas in which we build and warmly encourage local groups in need of support to get in touch. When you come home to Cavanna, you’re not just moving into a new home – you’re becoming part of a thriving community, thoughtfully created with care.”
Any organisation in North Molton or the surrounding area whose members feel they can make the case for funding should email Cavanna Homes via [email protected]. Members of the Cavanna Homes team, including those closely associated with the Hollywell Meadow development, will choose four worthy causes to share the £1,000 fund.
Applicants should briefly describe their organisation and what it brings to the community and how they would spend the grant. The closing date for applications will be on 30th May 2025 at 5pm, with announcements of who will receive the funding and presentations due to take place in June 2025.Cavanna Homes is building 39 one-to-four-bedroom energy efficient homes in North Molton, with an allocation being made for shared ownership or social rent and managed by an affordable housing provider.
The development, where works have already started, is off Fore Street alongside North Molton Primary School. Children from the school have been closely following progress on the site and helped to choose the name, Hollywell Meadow.
The double-glazed and well-insulated homes will be fitted with air source heat pumps, underfloor heating to the ground floor, installed with solar PV and electric vehicle charging points. The scheme will also include a village green, allotments, a play area and a footpath that will extend to the village sports and community centre.
As part of the development Cavanna Homes makes a £115,085 investment in secondary school education, £16,409 for secondary school transport improvements and £5,000 towards highways improvements.
Cavanna Homes currently has new homes available to purchase at Oak Mount, Hemyock, Market Place, Holsworthy, Cavanna @ Elm Park in Exeter and at Bellevue, Bude. It is also working on new developments at Bickington Park, Barnstaple, Warmwell Rise, Dorset and Centenary Heights, Wembdon, Bridgwater.
