Easter Events and Things to Do in Exeter
As Devon’s historic cathedral city, Exeter comes alive during the Easter holidays. From cultural attractions to outdoor adventures and family events, there’s plenty to fill the long spring weekend.
Whether you’re visiting with children or simply looking for something seasonal to enjoy, here are some of the best Easter activities in Exeter.
Easter at Exeter Cathedral
Exeter Cathedral hosts a range of creative activities during the Easter holidays, giving families the chance to explore the historic building while taking part in hands-on workshops inspired by nature.
On Tuesday 7 April, visitors can take part in Leaf and Flower Pounding Prints, a drop-in session running from 10:30am to 1:10pm, where participants use a technique known as hapa zome to transfer natural plant pigments onto fabric by gently hammering fresh botanicals to create delicate prints.
Families can also try Willow Weave Fishes on Thursday 9 April and Monday 13 April, crafting their own wiggly willow fish using simple weaving techniques and flexible willow branches. Later in the holidays, Mini Lantern Making takes place on Thursday 16 April, where visitors use natural materials to decorate a small lantern made from a lolly stick frame and tissue paper, creating something special to take home.
The cathedral itself is also well worth visiting, with its remarkable Gothic architecture and peaceful surroundings.
