Cavanna Homes races ahead to raise £1,400 for children’s hospice
A charity go-karting event organised by Cavanna Homes has raised more than £1,400 for Children’s Hospice South West.
The event, held at Raceworld in Exeter on Thursday 1 October, brought together businesses from across the South West for an afternoon of friendly competition in support of the housebuilder’s charity partner.
Thirteen teams took to the track on the day, with Sliding Doors & Windows racing to first place, followed by Encon Insulation in second and a joint Cavanna Homes and Crendon Timber Engineering team taking third.
The event was supported by businesses including Place by Design, MJL Group, LA Flooring, Wilsons & Co, JLL, Kendall Kingscott, Connells Group, Hooper Services, Michelmores, Trace Design, Rudge & Rudge Roofing and Porcelanosa.
JR Carpets had also signed up to race and, despite being unable to attend on the day, donated its entry fee to the charity.
Together, the businesses helped raise just over £1,400 for Children’s Hospice South West, which provides hospice care and support to children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families across the South West.
Paul Moran, Group Managing Director at Cavanna Homes, said: “It was a brilliant afternoon and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who came along, got involved and helped us raise such a fantastic amount for Children’s Hospice South West.
“There was definitely a competitive streak among the teams, but ultimately everyone was there to support a cause that means a great deal to us.
“A huge thank you goes to all of the businesses that raced, donated and supported the event. We couldn’t have raised this amount without them, and we hope everyone enjoyed the afternoon as much as we did.”
At Cavanna Homes, we have a long-standing commitment to supporting charities and community organisations across the South West, with colleagues, suppliers and business partners regularly coming together to raise funds for good causes.
