Dog-Friendly Pubs in and Around Exeter

Located right on the doorstep of our new homes in Exeter are a variety of dog-friendly pubs. So, if you’re out and about for the day, here are a few we recommend you visit with your furry friend(s).

Mill on the Exe

A former paper mill which has since been converted into a cosy pub is Mill on the Exe.

This pub is situated right on the banks of the River Exe, allowing you to unwind in beautiful surroundings, plus we’ll guarantee you’ll find something delicious on their extensive menu.

Double Locks

Sticking with waterside pubs, you’ll love the Double Locks, in particular its giant beer garden and peaceful location.

The pub is surrounded by beautiful walking routes which both you and your four-legged friend are sure to love. Our homes at Cavanna @ Elm Park are only a 30-minute walk away – the perfect distance for incorporating a pub lunch into a dog walk!

Look out for the Double Locks’ events that take all year round – including ‘Dog Fest’ which offers a full day of activities for you and your companion.

Swan’s Nest

Just outside of Exeter in Exminster is the Swan’s Nest, a traditional family pub dating back to 1876.

The pub was once called the Station Inn as it was located on Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s original atmospheric railway – if you’re a fan of Exeter’s rich history, you’ll enjoy exploring this area.

The Swan’s Nest is renowned for its carvery which they serve 7 days a week, alongside a menu of pub classics.  Go along for the fabulous views, stay for the superb food!

The Tally Ho!

The Tally Ho! pub is located on the edge of Riverside Valley Park, close to our homes at Cavanna @ Elm Park and offers an excellent menu.

When the sun is shining enjoy the beer garden, which has a children’s play area to entertain little ones or visit on the first Monday of the month for their quiz night.

The Fat Pig

Tucked away in Exeter’s west quarter, The Fat Pig takes pride in sourcing local produce from independent suppliers for their dishes.

They have an onsite distillery for producing gin, rum, vodka and moonshine, as well as a smokehouse, which helps to create their delicious dishes.

Space inside is limited, so be sure to book in advance for you, your friends and of course your dog too!
